What is an ion?

an atom that has (gained (reduced) / lost (oxidised)) electrons to get a full outer shell

Ions that are important

• Hydroxide - OH^-
• Sulphate - SO₄^-2
• Carbonate - CO₃^-3
• Nitrate - NO₃^-
